It remains to be seen when Enofe and Blade will get their NXT Tag Team Championship match against Pretty Deadly. The up and coming duo started teaming earlier this year in the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic where they made it to the semi-finals. Enofe and Blade have only challenged for the NXT Tag Team Championship once; they previously lost to The Creed Brothers while they were the champions.
Posing as stereotypical American sports fans, they went the usual 'foreign snob' route as they talked down to everyone in the arena. This dry sarcasm may have worked before, but it's a worn-out trope in 2022.
The 2022 NXT Halloween Havoc was the third annual Halloween Havoc professional wrestling event produced by WWE, and 15th Halloween Havoc event overall. It was held exclusively for wrestlers from the promotion's NXT brand division. Unlike the previous two years, which aired as television specials, the 2022 Halloween Havoc aired as a livestreaming event. It took place on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. SmackDown wrestler Shotzi returned to co-host the event with NXT wrestler Quincy Elliott; Shotzi previously hosted the 2020 event when she was still on NXT. In a cross-promotion with the Chucky TV series, Chucky returned to participate in the Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal segments.
Halloween Havoc is a professional wrestling event currently produced by WWE. As the name implies, it is a Halloween-themed show held in October. It was originally produced as an annual pay-per-view (PPV) by World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from 1989 until 2000 as WWE purchased WCW in 2001. The 2000 event was the final Halloween Havoc until WWE revived the show as an annual event for their developmental brand NXT in 2020.[1] The 2020 and 2021 events were held as television specials of the NXT program, but for 2022, it was held as a livestreaming event, airing on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network in international markets.[2] The event was scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at NXT's home base, the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. It was the 15th Halloween Havoc event overall and the third annual held for NXT.[3][4] After serving as the host of the 2020 event, it was announced that SmackDown wrestler Shotzi would return to NXT to host the 2022 Halloween Havoc. NXT wrestler Quincy Elliott earned the right to co-host the event with Shotzi after defeating Xyon Quinn in a match on the October 18 episode of NXT.[5][6]
One of the last major matches to take place in NXT during 2022, Carmelo Hayes would face off against Axiom in a battle of the cruiserweights, as these two would deliver a thrilling television exhibition. With both seemingly being strong breakout stars in 2022, Hayes and the masked superstar would deliver a great TV match for fans of the fast-paced, high-flying style.
The match was very exciting, and would see Hayes seek to regain some momentum after failing to win the Iron Survivor Challenge. The former NXT North American Champion would indeed win the match, capping off a strong 2022 for the future main roster star.
Kicking things off for NXT in a big way in 2022, Tommaso Ciampa would begin the year representing NXT 2.0 as the old veteran of the promotion, reigning as NXT Champion as the rest of the roster changed around him. With the new wave of talent entering NXT 2.0, Ciampa's days at the top would be numbered, with his legacy being challenged by the new face of the brand, Bron Breakker.
After becoming quite the hot commodity following a string of matches in AEW, notably against Scorpio Sky and Lee Johnson, Nathan Frazer would sign with WWE as part of NXT UK before eventually making his way into NXT 2.0 in 2022. Getting a bit of a makeover and an entire new presentation, the British star trained by Seth Rollins would have a breakout year in NXT.
A very high profile match would take place during NXT Worlds Collide 2022, with Carmelo Hayes defending the NXT North American Championship against a returning main roster superstar, who also happened to be a former North American Champion. The challenger would be SmackDown's Ricochet, with this bout being a sort-of dream match for NXT fans.
As expected with the talent from both men, this match would not underdeliver, as the two would put on one of the best cruiserweight style matches of 2022, in any promotion. With daredevil high flying moves and fast-paced action across the board, the match showed what both Ricochet and Carmelo Hayes are capable inside of a WWE ring, with Hayes getting the victory over the legendary high-flyer.
The big match for NXT Worlds Collide 2022 would see NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate facing off against NXT Champion Bron Breakker in a unification match of the two developmental championship belts. Headlining the show, the two would have their work cut out for them, but in the end, they would deliver the goods.
Coming off succesful defenses against JD McDonagh and Tyler Bate, Bron Breakker would have the odds stacked against him at Halloween Havoc 2022, as he would defend the NXT Championship against two former stars from NXT UK. Once again facing off against McDonagh, Breakker would also have a target on his back from the returning Ilja Dragunov.
At the event, the three men would deliver one of the best NXT Championship matches in some time, with the chemistry clicking and the booking of the match helping to make it even better. Breakker would once again retain his belt, maintaining a strong run as the champion for the rebranded NXT throughout 2022.
On the September 1st episode of NXT UK, former longtime teammates Tyler Bate and Trent Seven would face off in a grudge match that sent the show into the sunset on a high note, with Bate being crowned NXT UK Champion once again before Bron Breakker would unify the NXT and NXT UK Championship at Worlds Collide. For fans who still haven't seen this match, it is worth seeking out as it is undeniably one of the best matches from the NXT shows in 2022. 041b061a72
